Recipe : Licuado with Water

With or without liquor, this smooth, icy drink is the perfect cooler on a scorching
summer day. Experiment with different fruits, especially the more juicy ones, such
as berries and melons. Be sure the fruit is ripe and fragrant and you won't need to
add a drop of sugar.

Makes 4 servings

4 cups strawberries, diced
1 cup ice water
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 fluid ounce (2 tablespoons) rum or tequila (optional)
Fresh mint leaves or lime slices, to garnish

In food processor or blender, puree strawberries until very smooth.
Transfer pureed strawberries to freezer-safe pitcher. Add ice water, juice
and rum if using; freeze 30 minutes.
With wire whisk, blend strawberry mixture until smooth; serve immediately,
garnished with mint leaves or lime slices.
