Recipe : Hot Fruit Compote

Makes 4 servings

6 ounces mixed dried fruit, cut into bite-size pieces
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
1 long strip orange zest
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1 fluid ounce (2 tablespoons) orange-flavored liqueur

In small saucepan, combine dried fruit, orange juice, sugar, orange zest, ginger,
cinnamon and 3/4 cup water; bring liquid to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer,
covered, 15 minutes. Remove from heat.
Stir in liqueur. Remove orange zest before serving.
