Delicious And Healthy Low Carb Atkins Diet Recipe

Recipe : Grilled Hamburger with Fresh Tomato Salsa

Salsa is great on burgers! Make the salsa at the last minute for the freshest possible
taste.

Makes 4 servings

3/4 cup diced tomato
1/4 cup diced red onion
1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon minced deveined seeded jalapeno pepper (wear gloves to prevent
irritation)
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
10 ounces extra-lean ground beef (10% or less fat)
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat outdoor barbecue grill according to manufacturer's directions, or
preheat broiler and spray rack in broiler pan with nonstick cooking spray.
To prepare salsa, in medium bowl, combine tomato, onion, cilantro, juice, jalapeno
pepper and black pepper; set aside.
In large bowl, combine beef, cumin, onion powder and salt; form into 4 equal
patties. Grill patties over hot coals or place onto prepared rack in broiler pan and
broil 4" from heat, turning once, 8 minutes, until beef is cooked through. Serve
with salsa.

SERVING (1 BURGER, 1/4 CUP SALSA) PROVIDES: 1/2 Vegetable, 2 Proteins.
