Delicious And Healthy Low Carb Atkins Diet Recipe

Recipe : Kansas City Barbecued Beef on a Bun
A tomato-y, vinegary sauce with just a hint of sweetness: that's what makes Kansas
City barbecue special.
Makes 6 servings
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon paprika
1 garlic clove, minced
One 1-pound 8-ounce trimmed flank steak
1/2 cup grated onion
1/4 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons dark molasses
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon steak sauce
Six 1-ounce hard rolls
Combine vinegar, 2 teaspoons of the oil, the paprika and garlic; add steak and
marinate at least 6 hours or overnight (see Marinating Know-how). Transfer
steak to a platter and drizzle with any remaining marinade.
Prepare grill for a medium-hot fire, using direct method (see Cooking Methods) .
Meanwhile, prepare barbecue sauce. In small bowl, combine onion, ketchup,
molasses, chili powder, steak sauce and the remaining teaspoon oil; set aside 2
tablespoons of mixture and spread the rest onto both sides of steak.
Grill steak, turning once, 10 minutes (medium) or 12 minutes (well-done). Transfer
to platter and cover with foil; let stand 10 minutes. Thinly slice and serve on rolls,
each with a teaspoon of reserved barbecue sauce.
SERVING (3 OUNCES BEEF, ON ROLL, AND 1 TEASPOON BARBECUE
SAUCE) PROVIDES: 1/2 Fat, 3 Proteins, 1 Bread, 15 Optional Calories.
